Character CreationWelcome to Runes of Magic, and the exciting world of Taborea! After logging in, and choosing the option to create a character, simply choose your sex and begin adjusting sliders to create the digital avatar that you feel represents the best "you inside you". Though you'll most likely be able to alter some of these attributes later, it's nice to have an avatar you can be proud of. Next you'll be asked to choose your server, make sure if you're planning to play with a friend that you both choose a server prior to finishing the creation process, and make sure to note whether your server is PvP enabled or not. On a server labeled (PvP) players should expect to find a highly competitive and engaging environment where fellow gamers have the ability to attack each other. | |||
Pioneer's ColonyWe awaken to the Northwest of Pioneer's Colony, a charming little hamlet under the direction of Commander Leighton, who we shall get to know very shortly. Directly in front of you should be a guide, who will direct you to the aforementioned captain. But, before you do anything in Pioneer's Colony you should click the box to accept to enter the Tutorial. This gives you access to a special ring, and a white horse. Not exactly the 'Rare Prize' that was promised. When you are done with the Tutorial let's bring up our map and get a sense for the lay of the land, it might just save your life. |

Introducing, The PeddlersFollow your nose right into the center of Pioneer's Colony, and you should see Commmander Leighton. Talk to him and we'll receive our first task. Which is to claim our equipment from the local merchants, Starting with Mallor the Weapons merchant, who resides by the entrance we just passed through. (Ref. Screenshot #2) Talking with Mallor with lead us to our next objective, the armor merchant to his left. This pattern continues, leading us to the potion merchant (also to the left), and then finally back to Commander Leighton for our reward. Don't forget to go to your inventory and right click the sacks we recieved from our merchant friends as they contain equipment that offers, at least, a marginal stat increase Make note that all merchants are represented by an appropriate icon on your minimap (in the upper right). | |||
